Focus: Root chakra (Muladhara)
Muladhara sits at the base of the spine and is associated with the earth element. In modern yoga, it is linked with feeling grounded, safe and supported by the basics of life: home, body, routine and community.
Practice
Grounding practice works with the legs, feet and contact with the floor. Slow standing poses, balances and long exhales bring attention down and into the body.
