What the card shows

The Hierophant represents inherited wisdom: teachers, lineages and communities that pass knowledge on. It invites you to consider which traditions support you and which you are ready to question.

The Hierophant brings teachers, shared practices and inherited ideas into view. Consider what a tradition offers and which questions you want to bring to it.

Among the major arcana

The 22 major arcana trace a long arc of experience, from the Fool’s first step to the completion of the World. They are often read as the larger themes in a life: beginnings, choices, endings and renewal.
